ABOUT FRAYDA BRUTON LAW

The Right Strategy at the Right Time

Ms. Bruton’s practice focuses on several critical issues:

  • Estate Planning
  • Trust and estate administration
  • Post-mortem tax planning
  • Trust and estate litigation

Her particular expertise is in the arena of California property tax. As a member of the executive committee of the California State Bar Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law Section in the mid-1990s, she contributed to legislation that clarified and modified the change in ownership rules that affect intergenerational succession planning.

As the 2002 chair of the Sacramento County Bar Association Estate Planning and Probate Law Section, Ms. Bruton was responsible for implementing a local rule that encourages adverse parties to first attempt alternate dispute resolution–such as mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, and early settlement conferences–before turning to the judicial system to settle their differences. She firmly believes that parties involved in trust and estate litigation fare significantly better when they reach their own amicable agreements out of court.

Over the years, Ms. Bruton has established working alliances with attorneys who are authorities in a diversity of practice areas. By creating this elite network of professionals, she is able to enhance client services by engaging custom-selected resources when the need for highly specialized counsel arises.
